Who we are: 

The Division for Automation and Control Systems is involved with research and development related to automatic control theory, industrial process control, biomedical engineering and geo-information systems.

Main achievements:


  • Designed and implemented an on-line intelligent expert system for process monitoring and fault detection in an oil refinery.
  • Designed and implemented an expert system for fault detection in asynchronous machines which utilizes both current and vibration measurements.
  • Designed and tested an innovative self-adaptive on-line system for condition monitoring and fault detection capable of identifying novelties in the process behaviour.
  • Novel algorithms for decentralized estimation and distributed change detection based on consensus approach
  • Designed and implemented a permanent GPS stations network AGROS (Active Geodetic Reference Base of Serbia).
International experience:


  • FP7 project PRODI (Power Systems Robustification Based on Fault Detection and Isolation Algorithms, 2008-2011)
  • Eureka project NEUROTEMP (A new approach to control of temperature processes based on soft computing techniques, 2009-2012)
  • The group took a part in few TEMPUS projects related to higher education, knowledge transfer from academia to industry, and tele-medicine technology
